I created this handmade journal with sturdy watercolor paper covers doubled for stability. I colored them with a combination of spray inks and then dropped salt crystals on the papers while they were still wet to get some cool results. Each side is a little different and either side can be the front, your choice! The inside paper is Canson Mixed Media paper, and there are 36 pages, front and back, for a total of 72 pages.
This journal measures 4 1/2" by 6" and can be used vertically or horizontally oriented, whatever your preference. It can be used as a writing journal to collect your thoughts, and the paper is also sturdy enough for art journaling with wet or dry media. I used a coptic stitch for sewing so it will always lay completely flat when open. Click on the larger images to enlarge them further.
